A great book on the old days of cricket, including chapters on An old cricketer's story, Mr Hodges who attended matches at Lord's for about 75 years, Charles Dickens and cricket, Cricket bats, Books and writers, making the mouth water at those titles so elusive today. Glorious.
A really enjoyable book, especially the chapters on Cricket as a hobby and Books and writers. `The collection of publications on the game as a hobby has perhaps never been in greater favour than at present', says the author on p. 206 in 1927.
