“Quest for Light – Adventure of the Magi” was a title recently available for review, and as it sounded unique, I requested a copy to read.

“Quest for Light – Adventure of the Magi” is a fictional story/accounting, written from the author’s point of view, about the Magi who, according to Christianity, noticed a bright new star shining in the heavens. The Magi studied this star, and its location, intently; they discussed its many possible meanings at length. Finally they came to the conclusion that the star was a sign; a beacon of a place to reach. With that knowledge gained, they knew they would need to leave their homeland of Persia and travel all the way to Bethlehem.

“Quest for Light – Adventure of the Magi” definitely takes the reader on an interesting journey through ancient customs, lands and beliefs. “Quest for Light – Adventure of the Magi” also focuses on the miracle of the Christ child being born into this world by a virgin mother. Needless to say, a new star and a virgin birthing a child were previously unheard of phenomenons. As such, and with the tidings they heralded, the Magi felt honored to be making this long trek.

I will, of course, leave the particulars of this story for the reader to discover for her/himself… In closing though, author Byron Anderson, has written an interesting tale, filled with historical information thereby making “Quest for Light – Adventure of the Magi” a much more intriguing, realistic and believable read.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I received this book for review, and although I expected a very Biblical, Christian based book, that really isn't what I read. ( Not that I would have minded, I just was surprised with this one)
Something about taking a story, and creating a book, with a new twist, and through the eyes of the Magi, is very alluring and will probably grab many readers attention with this story.
I thoroughly enjoyed this novel, as Byron Anderson, took an already beautiful story and elaborated on it and made a genuinely, charming book that will take you on a whole new adventure.
The Three Wise Men, are the main characters in the story, and we get to see, first hand, the events that took place before, during and after the birth of Christ, and all through their eyes. Byron Anderson does a tremendous job with real history, and real religion and adds a whole new light, which in turn makes an amazing book that will not be forgotten.
Quest for Light, was probably one of the most interesting and beautiful stories I personally have ever read and for those who do not often read the Bible or for those that do read the Bible, this is definitely a book for you! The descriptions and exquisite details of the road they traveled and the bandits, the merchants and all of the people that the Magi, crossed paths with, will stay with you forever and will be an absolute joy to read and picture in your mind.
It certainly takes you along the road with them, as if you were there, because the author does a splendid job painting very vivid pictures of all of these amazing events and people.
I would be more then happy to see in the near future, that this author chooses to write another book of this type about another part of the Bible.
I would recommend this for the coming season for sure, this would make a great gift and the perfect book to read to get you in the spirit for the holiday season, and to share this wonderful story with family and friends.
