A nice addition to the teen female protagonist as a pirate genre. This time around, we have Kiera Branwen, who has a bit of magical ability, sacrificing her freedom through an unwanted marriage in order to stop bloodshed between her family and the Mathonwy clan. Four years ago, she used her rage-fueled magical ability to sink a ship and strand Ronan, the boy she loved, on an island after seeing him kill her father. Now, she's being forced to marry him when her preference would be to slit his throat. Once they tie the knot, Ronan does everything he can to convince her that someone else murdered her father. After they're nearly drowned when the ship they received as a wedding present sinks as a result of sabotage, Kiera is on her way to believing that someone else murdered her father. Proving it requires stealing a ship, gathering a crew, and finding an island that wants to remain hidden. What unfolds makes for a very satisfying read and I'm interested to see the author's next book.… (plus d'informations)
