Kate is a love story full of drama and suspense. Kate is in hiding from her unpleasant past with strict rules on how she chooses to live her life whilst Kai is a fairly easy-going, caring and reliable character. Both were interesting characters throughout the book however, I did find Kate's inner dialogue and behaviour towards the end of the book frustrating. At the start her trust issues and desire to be completely independent (even to her own detriment) were interesting character traits but it did start to feel repetitive and it would have been nice to see her character development taking place sooner than it did. Overall it does make for an enjoyable read and I would certainly read another book by this author.
