This is an adaptation by Liza Alexander and illustrator Carol C. Haantz of the Walt Disney animated Winnie the Pooh special, A Valentine for You (1999), directed by Keith Ingham and written by Carter Crocker.

The film is a bit odd, because even though it is a Valentine's Day show, it has more of a Halloween tone with the Pooh friends getting lost in a dark and scary forest at one point in their quest to keep Christopher Robin from falling in love. And then it also has some Christian overtones as a guiding light of love saves them by leading them from the darkness. Also, Owl sings an awful, sexist song: https://youtu.be/JM5Tl945quc.

The adaptation is fairly faithful to the film's story, but the art is not quite on model, with some of the faces of the Pooh characters looking downright ugly at times. Owl's song is mercifully omitted.

I wasn't too impressed when my four-year-old granddaughter picked this older book to read. Howver, it turned out to be a great story about Bert and Ernie exploring an attic. My four-year-old granddaughter told me that an attic is a place "with no monsters" and "is full of all that pink stuff". When we read about paper clips and marbles that Bert and Ernie found, i was able to show her our collection of paper clips and our collection of marbles. She chose a blue paper clip and a blue-and-white marble to take home...plus this book, of course! :D There were lots of teachable moments in this book.

Big Bird, while staying at Granny Bird's house, sighs that he's bored, with nothing to do. Granny Bird puts him to work helping to pick flowers, wash dishes, sort socks, and place decorative dents on pie crusts. Afterwards, Big Bird spends some quality time with Radar gazing at clouds, having a mock meal with mud and acorns, washing Radar's shirt, and swinging the teddy bear into the air. -- Muppet Wiki
Big Bird's insatiable appetite for activity has Granny Bird busy thinking up things for him to do.

Ernie and the Twiddlebug Town Fair is a 1990 Sesame Street storybook featuring Ernie and the Twiddlebugs.
The Twiddlebugs are having a big party, an annual celebration they hold when the geraniums in Ernie's window box begin to bloom.
This year, however, the Twiddlebugs find themselves lacking a big-top tent. They decide to borrow Ernie's bandana. This creates a problem for Ernie, as he was hoping to play "ride 'em cowboy." -- Muppet Wiki

This is a story about childhood education and parenting. The example is a metaphircal child getting lost (and found)

After seeing a ghost movie, Ernie's imagination runs wild while attempting to sleep. His fears are proven to be unfounded and with the comfort of his rubber duck and night light he eventually falls asleep. Note: this book may frighten small children as it depicts ghosts and other fear inducing images.

Liza Alexander is the author of numerous Sesame Street children's books. Alexander has also written many books for the Blues Clues series and is a second grade teacher.

Tom Cooke illustrated over 100 Sesame Street books. He was also an award winning artist and has designed board games.

I liked this book because of the characters. This book is based off of Sesame Street so the characters are really familiar. In the book, the only characters are Ernie, Maria and Burt. They weren’t very developed throughout the book but since they have a television show some may know the characters well enough. I also enjoyed the point of view through Ernie. He gets lost in P.C. Nickles Department Store, Maria gave Ernie a long talk about what to do if he were to get lost and just like that Ernie got lost and we read about the dilemma and how he remembers what to do. As he sat in the shoe department, Ernie was crying and his stomach felt like a stone because he thought that Maria would forget about him but as he pulled out his handkerchief to dry his eyes he is reminded what to do if he got lost. The big idea from this book is to stay clam and find an adult when you are lost. Ernie stayed calm and found a sales lady to help him find Maria. This book has a great lesson within it.

This was definitely one of my favourite books growing up. Good for teaching kids to be creative and optimistic when things do not go their way.

This book is great for children just learning how to read. I like it because not only is my name Zoe, but I also remember watching Sesame Street as a young child. Beginning readers will be able to read this book over and over again to build on their skills. I liked that this book has easily recognizable characters from a popular children's show. The characters are easy to relate to and this story is another relatable story about a child in a community. This book is also very interactive and asks the reader questions that they can answer. I liked that this book is an easy read and the main message is to be yourself and friendly.

While I wouldn't personally give it such a high rating, the truth is my kids have loved this book for years.

I love the Sesame Street books. They are great for kids. This one teaches them all about rain. It talks about how rain starts in rain clouds, falls from the sky, gets everything wet, causes fog, and helps the flowers grow. It shows the characters playing in the rain, which helps children not be afraid of it.
