This is another edition of the book published anonymously by Grove Press in 1985, entitled 'School for Scandal'. Indeed the introductory material specifically refers to this title.

There is a strong English tradition of late Victorian/Edwardian erotic writing, and it has stimulated a more modern tradition of copying the style. The Dashwood series comes into this category, with just enough modern style and anachronisms to distinguish it from the original. Given the titillatory purpose of the genre, this is not necessarily a fault, as much of the original literature is perfunctory and repetitive. This book avoids these excesses. It catalogues the amatory escapades of Dashwood and his chums, male and female, which are vigorous and frequent, involving not only the principal participants but also an assortment of servants and the occasional parent. It is set at Oxford University and at various country seats. Even the title proves less than adequate, as the tale really concerns the education of its well-endowed young male hero, a process that involves many doting females, some closely related, and most of them very experienced indeed. The story contains a wealth of amatory episodes, including chastisement and voyeurism, and indeed this half of the complete work is relatively free from the taint of repetition which often pervades the genre. The original work itself stands well clear of its peers, as a true classic… (plus d'informations)
