Little Annie and Rennie, not to mention alleged dog Ethel (local speculation is that she's the offspring of a black bear and a musk ox); will be present at the climax. This was Ms. MacLeod/Craig's most fanciful series, so don't be surprised at some of the stunts Hiram gets up to (including crashing a party at the inn). Plenty of mysteries get solved: an old bank robbery, what happened to Arethusa Monk's great-grandmother's wedding china, who got a bank security guard killed, and what happened to Hiram's beloved mules.
