This time travel romance starts when burned-out social worker Sarah Jane Tremont is walking along the beach in California, worrying about her inability to help a young boy and his mother. She follows some footprints in the sand, and just as a cell phone call gives her the break she's hoped for, she's hurled to the past and Wyoming, though it takes her a while to realize where and when she is.

The first person she meets, as she's injured, tired, and confused, is a man who calls her by name, but appears to despise her. It seems he believes she's his brother's widow, also named Sarah, who, he believes, drove his brother to the accident which killed him and ran off with his money.

Stay With Me is a complex story, with Sarah coming to terms with her time travel, and trying to get back to California and the future, and helping the boy and his mother who are depending on her, John coming to terms with his brother's death, the two of them falling in love, and facilitating the romance of John's neighbor and best friend.

It's a tense story, wondering how Sarah can reconcile the part of herself that wants to stay in the past with James and the part that needs to go back to the future to keep a little boy from dying alone. The solution is a fun twist in an engrossing story. ( )
