I've reviewed most of the books contained herein as part of my Pooh project already, but as a bonus for me today, it contains one of the few books from the series that my family doesn't own, Happy New Year, Pooh! It has a stupid premise, with Pooh, Piglet and Tigger realizing that their calendars end on December 31 with no further pages, and so of course that must mean the end of time. They spend the book writing an ode to the months of the year that they fear they shall never see again. But, as with most Pooh stories, it ends with a quick explanation from Christopher Robin and a party for all the Pooh friends. Silly but nice. Three stars.
This collection contains:
• Pooh's First Day of School
• Happy New Year, Pooh!
• Pooh Plays Doctor (also published as "Pooh Visits the Doctor" and "Pooh Gets a Checkup")
• Pooh's Bad Dream (also published as "Sweet Dreams, Pooh")
• Don't Talk to Strangers, Pooh! (also published as "Safe at Home with Pooh")
• Pooh's Neighborhood
(My Pooh Project: I love Winnie the Pooh, and so does my wife. Having a daughter gave us a chance to indoctrinate her into the cult by buying and reading her every Pooh book we came across. How many is that? I’m going to count them this year by reading and reviewing one every day and seeing which month I finally run out. Track my progress here:
