3.66⭐ Even this non-meditator found a couple of good strategies. Read my mini review here. ( )

A pretty good and basic approach to meditation laid out here. The author has considerable experience in serious monk type meditation and is able to relate in straightforward terms the process, benefits, and challenges that meditation presents.

The 10 minutes concept is brilliant and allows an introductory without getting overwhelmed that this topic can bring. It's simple, direct and easy to practice and develop as a daily practice. I have used some of these concepts and am pleased with the results. I look to expand as time goes on and this book was a great start. ( )

Puddicombe describes his mindfulness journey and meditation practice as a monk at different monasteries across the world. Overall, the book was enjoyable and helpful to clarify concepts like the difference between mindfulness and meditation. Simple exercises and guided help intro mindfulness would be beneficial to anyone new to the practice of mindfulness. There were also many times where Puddicombe plugs his website and unfortunately for me it made the entire book feel like an advertisement.
I'm still a fan, and enjoy the overall message along with the helpful short guided meditations. ( )

This was a great little book! It was simple to understand and offered really quick, practical ways to introduce meditation and mindfulness into daily life. The section on integration was really helpful. I was a bit skeptical since it's tied to an app, but it's not an advertisement in any way. The app isn't required at all but, if anything, it adds credibility to the designer. The stories of his days as a Buddhist monk are pretty entertaining. ( )

*I received a free copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review*

I had tried the Headspace app a few times, so was already familiar with some of activities. This is a really great introduction to mindfulness, with really helpful activities. I really enjoyed the book, including Andy's personal experiences. ( )
