Appartient à la sérieThe Surrender Trilogy (Box Set 1-3) Contient
#1 New York Times bestselling author Maya Banks crosses the boundaries of desire in this boxed set that includes all three novels in the Surrender trilogy. LETTING GO Dash has lived in an untenable position for years: in love with his best friend's wife but unwilling to act on that attraction. After Joss's husband passes away and Dash finds her in a club devoted to the darker edges of desire, he is gripped by unwavering determination. If she wants dominance, he is the only man who will introduce her to that world. GIVING IN Kylie sees the way Jensen looks at her. The dark promise in his eyes. But dominance is the one thing that frightens her above all else. Jensen sees the shadows in Kylie's eyes. All he wants is the opportunity to show her that dominance doesn't equal pain, bondage, or discipline. That emotional surrender is the most powerful of all. TAKING IT ALL For a couple taking steps to renew their marriage, the consequences of one single moment of inattention may come at a price the husband never expects. Tate loves his wife, but a business call at the wrong time threatens everything. Whatever it takes, he'll show her that nothing is more important than her love. B1: "Letting Go" follows a widow as she seeks out the Dominance her late husband couldn't give her due to childhood abuse and finds herself in the arms of his best friend who'd been unrequited for years. I honestly skipped several pages of several chapters due to blathering redundancy.
B2: "Giving In" follows the sister of the deceased husband who suffers greatly from childhood abuse trauma. More interesting than B1 because both protagonists share the abuse trauma and Banks treats it realistically with situationally triggered drama a survivor might experience. Banks also does not wholly solve the issues with neat endings.
B3: "Taking It All" follows the third friend in the circle whose marriage is rocky but the conflict is already set up throughout B1 & B2 so all that's left the reader is to eye roll until the woman gets it. When the moment comes, it's could be read intensely. There's more ribbons and bows to end this but what had me eye rolling was the coma inducing saccharine filled Epilogue at the end of B3.
Each book has its own merits but I was bored with reading trite lines over and over and the way Banks had her character say "y'all" suddenly when they got together but not necessarily at any other time made me have a visceral reaction - idk why.
Overall I'd give the Trilogy 📚📚
Individually: B1📚📚 B2 📚📚📚 and B3 📚📚📚 ( )
