Samantha "Sam" Austen barely has control of her powers yet knows that she wants nothing to do with Hikuro. Sam can't seem to control her reaction to Hikuro but that doesn't stop her from trying. Hikuro is a three hundred year old vampire that's unsure of his place within Sam's life. Sam is tracking down a lead but her powers go haywire. Hikuro rescues Sam yet unsure who is helping whom. Meanwhile Tadieh and Zoricah are struggling to understand their relationship. Tadieh thinks that Zoricah doesn't want him yet nothing could be further from the truth. Zoricah is trying to track down leads but is coming up empty. Will Sam admit her feelings? What is happening to Sam's powers? Can Hikuro break through Sam's defenses? Your answers await you in Vampire Thirst.

This action packed sequel doesn't leave you hanging like some books do. This creative and imaginative book captured my heart and attention. The characters are splendid my opinion wholly unique and compelling. Definitely looking forward to the next installment in this series. ( )

This series picks up where book 1 left off. You must read these in order. This is Sam and Hikuro's story at the beginning.

I enjoyed this book. The world building continues and it is done very well. I appreciated the quick review of the last book from Sam's point of view at the beginning. I also liked that her back story is also begun. More of the back stories of these characters come through during this book. I loved that the book is done in three parts so I did not have to go back and forth between stories. The first part is Sam and Hikuro. The second part is Zoricah and Tardieh and what they are doing to find the guilty parties to the kidnappings as well as where their relationship is at that point. The final part is both story lines coming together. There are still loose ends that need to be closed but there are more books coming. I look forward to reading them.

These characters are good characters. Some are of the same species but others come from different species. They have to learn to work together. Their communication skills needs a lot of work. All the characters have prejudices but they are finding their preconceived ideas are not necessarily true.

The story arc moves along at a good pace. There are several story lines with each of the couples and a main story arc about the kidnappings and experiments which carries over into this book. Another story line starts in this book but I am starting to see how it may fit in to the overall arc of the books. Looking forward to sitting down and reading book 3. ( )

Welcome to this book review!

3.5/5 stars

First of all once again Disclaimer, I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

So there isn't much to say. It was once again beautifully written and really enjoyable though it took me more time to get into this story than the first one which is why I gave it a slightly lower note. But overall I can't wait to read the next one. I was slightly dissapointed that we didn't get to see much of the first two characters that were previously presented in the first book. (personal fav's) But still Hikuro's backround story and all of their romance was good !

Thanks for reading!

This is the second book of the Dragon Heat series. The drama between Zoricah and Tardieh continues as new romances begin, and the characters start to unravel the mysteries surrounding who is abducting and killing the supes and why. We also get a deeper look at Sam's back story and see her start to mature.
As I stated in my review of the first book, the storyline tends toward the romantic formula involving many misunderstandings between the individuals who are trending toward becoming couples. That said, the story arc (both romantic and otherwise) continues to develop in the second installment. This novel holds up well, maintaining the style and tone of the first in the series. ( )

Okay so I am continuing on in this series. I am enjoying these books. I get wrapped up in the storylines. Sometimes it does feel as if there is a little too much going on but I love the characters and the creativity put forth by the author. I am definitely going to continue in this series. Sam and Hikuro are my favorite so far. ( )
