There seems to be a lot of answers to who's who at LJ, but what's everyone doing? Which group d'yall belong to? Apart from my local Ottawa group, the only group I belong to so far is bookshare. Any suggestions for someone who's interested in books and reading but doesn't necessarily want to do book clubs?

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. I assume you're talking about livejournal communities...? There is a topic to list book-related communities (LJ book comms), a lot of which aren't book clubs, at least, not what I think of as book clubs.
