Two of my favorites in this category are:
Jamaica Kincaid, Vermont resident and Harvard professor, and
Paule Marshall, turning 80 in Virginia where she was (and still is?) a faculty member at Virginia Commonwealth University.
Marshall has a book that I will have to read called "Triangular Road".
I won't write much in this post. I want to see if anyone is reading (the posts) and interested in discussing Caribbean lit.

Hi Tim,

Thanks for your message. This has been a pretty quiet board, but I feel that it needs to exist out of principle. Glad that you stopped by, and I'll be happy to discuss topics with you (even if it is only me).

Paule Marshall
Jamaica Kincaid
or perhaps VS Naipaul
Do any of these interest you?

I am currently reading "Prospero's Daughter" by Elizabeth Nunez. It takes place, in part, at the leper colony on Chacachacare.
