OK, I read a SF short story -- probably at least a decade ago. Earth has been knocked out of orbit, or possibly things went awry just enough to destroy the atmosphere. I tend to think an asteroid hit earth, knocked it out of orbit, it's traveling away from the sun, and the atmosphere is mostly lost or frozen.
Protagonist is surviving. I think that another survivor comes along during the story.
The memories that have stuck with me are:
* the survivor lives in what by description is almost a yurt -- many hanging blankets for insulation.
* the survivor goes out periodically to get a great block of atmospheric ice, to bring back into the shelter; this is the source of oxygen.
It might have been in a magazine, or a short story collection.

I think that's A Pail of Air by Fritz Leiber
I read it in a collection called Constellations (or something, I can't recall), but it's also been published in an sf magazine.

I second A Pail of Air, and I definitely read it in an anthology.
