Somehow I managed to miss watching Buffy and Angel when they first came out. Fortunately, my local library allows entire seasons to be borrowed and happens to have both complete series. So, I'm quickly rectifying the situation and watching everything.

Here's the question though: Do I watch all of Buffy first, and then move on to Angel? Or, do I go back and forth between the two now that I've made it to the fourth season of Buffy?

I've watched them both ways, and I like going back and forth between them, since there are quite a few references each to the other show. Enjoy!

I'd go back and forth between the two to get the links between them.

Thank you both for your input!

I just did this (finally on the last season of Angel). There are a few episodes that don't really make sense if you don't watch them in the right order, but, for the most part, you can get by with alternating discs, especially after seasons 4/1. A little bit of googling led me here: http://www.simonhampel.com/buffy.html

If you get lazy, here's a list of episodes you really should watch in order:

Seasons 4/1
B/A1 (The Freshman)(City Of...)
B/A3 (Harsh Light of Day)(In The Dark)
B/A8 (Pangs)(I Will Remember You)
B15-16/A18-19/B20 (This Year's Girl/Who Are You)/(Five By Five/Sanctuary)/(The Yoko Factor)

Seasons 5/2
B/A17 (Forever)(Disharmony) (maybe -- they're listed as crossovers, but I'm not sure the two episodes are actually connected)

Seasons 6/3
A4/B4/A5/B5 (Carpe Noctem/Flooded)/(Fredless/Life Serial)

Seasons 7/4
A13-15/B17-18 (Salvage/Release/Orpheus)(Lies My Parents Told Me/Dirty Girls)
A22/B21-22 (Home)(End of Days/Chosen)

Enjoy! It's quite an undertaking :)

Thanks so much for the great info and for the link!

Unfortunately, I'll probably end up watching all of Buffy Season Four before I can get a hold of Angel Season One. Someone has it checked out right now, but, I'm on the waiting list, and maybe it'll be returned early. :-)

It is an undertaking, but I'm really enjoying it so far. Plus, I'm starting to get the references that some of my friends throw around. There are certainly worse things I could be doing with my time!

Alternately you could just watch them both enough times that you'll get the references anyway because you'll remember entirely too much. :-D

I just found out about this and thought other Buffy fans might be as interested as I am. Curse my current lack of $19.95!
