Older style cover, maybe 1980's or 1990's?
The book cover had a boy and girl (one with white hair and one with black, though I don't remember which had which), standing on the doorstep of a girl's house. I think their eyes were red?
Definitely for pre-teens
Plot Details:
A new family on the block moves into the raggedy old house on the same street as a girl (main character).
The house is described as very unkempt.
The family consists of two siblings, one boy and one girl, and their parents (though the main character never actually meets them (very important)).
The siblings become friends with the girl.
The girl finds them nice at first, but when she starts getting suspicious that they are vampires, she cuts contact with them (she would only text the girl).
The girl (main character) found coffins in the houses basement after following cords from the front door.
!!!!!!! She texted the girl, saying "I saw the coffins.", and then said something else, but I don't remember what. !!!!!!!!!!!!!
The cords were part of a sound contraption that made the siblings sound like their parents were greeting them from upstairs whenever the door opened and they entered the house.
After cutting contact the main character was having a sleep over with her other friends (camping themed in their living room I think?).
When everyone fell asleep, she woke up to the siblings in the room.
When she asked how they got in to her house, the boy mentioned something about words she said earlier in the book that 'let them in'.
In the epilogue, the main character may have joined them as vampires?
