Novel with barn scene making love someone watches 90's

Unfortunately I don't remember much about the book. I read it I think in the 90's. I think that it had a lot of green on the cover but covers can change and memory definitely is not always right.
Please help me find this book - I think reading this book many years ago was formative for me but I can’t remember what is called.
Basic plot I remember is a woman who was possibly new to town. Or she lived there or already had ties there, but she was making changes I think.
I think she had neighbors who she got close to; may have been one or two kids in that family.
There was a scene possibly towards the end; the lady who came to town was making love with a young man (I think her neighbor or neighbor's son) and someone (his little sister? The girl his age interested in him?) saw them without announcing herself; the lady lowered her breasts to the man/boys mouth.
Here are the things that I think I remember (ie they may not be true): -the cover was a forest or similar; lots of green -I think I read it before 2000; certainly before 2006 -the lady may have been pregnant? But don’t know -I think she transformed the town in interesting ways -I think she lived near the boy/man she slept with

I don't know the name of the novel it was taken from, but I'm hoping the author's name will jog your memory if it's the right one!
