There's at least one or two thrift stores that aren't *entirely* stinky and have *some* used book selection; we raided them for reading material for the trip home.

As of the last time I visited, which was over a year ago, I admit. (temp back here in MD: 64°F)

If you're determined and have a car, you could always take the jaunt up to Winnipeg for some book shopping. They had a slightly (okay, much) better selection of new and used book stores there and I think it's probably the nearest largish city to Grand Forks.

Any book sales coming up in GF in mid-May?

I'm going to be up that way to defend my thesis (I'm in the SpSt department at UND.) Would be nice to grab some books too. :)

No upcoming book sales. And the used bookstore closed. You can sometimes find good stuff at the thrift stores.

Drat!

Plus by the time you posted, I was long out of GF. :(

The only used bookstore in town reopened in a different location, so I no longer have to travel down to Fargo for used books. I haven't checked out the new place, but it has the same owners and I presume most of the same stock. No word yet on whether or not it still smells like a run down bowling alley. I'll keep you all posted.

Was 'blowing alley' intentional, or do I just have a dirty mind?

Well please do let us know. I'll be heading back up to GF next month.

Melannen you just have a dirty mind. :)

It was in fact unintentional and has been corrected. I don't know what a blowing alley would smell like and I don't know if I particularly want to.

Current book sale status: El Zilcho.

:(

That's sad as I'm currently sitting in the Econolodge up here in beautiful GF.
