This group has been quiet for a while, and not everybody visits here daily. I don't know of any get-togethers, but why don't you try to start one?

Oh well its pretty quiet on here but i just put ona poem about Jeepers before i go and maybe someone will read it some other time?

the best time is riding through the fields
on a wonderful horse going under the sun
over the greenest grass and jumping a stream
without a care and wind blowing on your face and hair

A horse is for life
--------------------

Your horse is for life
so treat them well
and remember that they
need love as well
theyre someones son
or someones daughter
when i see them treat cruel
my eyes start to water.

Near Miss !
-------------

Galloping through woodland
with low trees and streams
Jumping and running and free
thats the life for me
Then! Over a log
with a mighty drop!
but Jeepers came through!
we landed it PHEW!

Sea Biscuit
-------------

This is one of my favorite films
A story of a horse who WINS!
and the people who love him too
He jumps so high to please them
maybe Air Biscuit is a better name for him!

Maybe i am mistaken, but your name can be misread and i wonder if this is putting people off, think about it. Best wishes all the same.

No, my horses are not actually all retired. Donald, at age 31, is still being ridden and is as sound as a silver dollar. Leah, age 25, is ridden daily and is in perfect health except for needing an Adequan injection every month for her arthritis. Being ridden helps keep the arthritis from getting worse. Lili does not get ridden. She is 30 years old, but her grandsire was Bask, and she has the long loose Bask pasterns. She doesn't exactly have DSLD, but her pasterns are low enough that I choose not to ride her so as not to aggravate the condition. Miss Valerie is still a mystery as to her rideability. She came to me quite underweight, and is still not in shape to ride. She also has very badly bucked knees, so I don't know if I will ever ride her. She has no problems moving around in the pasture though.

I do love my horses! There are occasional updates on my FB page for the horses, so that my friends can know what's going on with them.

Hi Hoofhearted!

I have just joined Librarything although I have been on Goodreads for a while.

I used to be a national standard showjumper in Ireland so horses was the first place I came!
sadly I don't have horses now so I have to make do with writing about them.

I have written at least two books about horses (two and a half really) so if anyone wants to check them out they are:
'Silks And Sins' about racing in Ireland - a romantic suspense.
'Murder At Kildare Mensa' - a mystery, part of a series but can be read as a standalone.
The half is 'Murder At Wicklow Mensa'.
All are on Amazon Kindle.

I hope there are more horsey people here as it would be nice to chat.

Hello all, I'm a horse person who reads. I live in Tucson, AZ, with my horses and other critters. Hello to all. I tend to lurk, but I would talk if we could get a chat going. Have a good day.

I think all the horsey people must be out riding and caring for their horses!
