Let's Talk about Club Read 2012!

It's that time of year to start thinking about Club Read 2012 and another great reading year!

I am happy to set it up once again and hope to have time to do so this weekend.

I want to thank this year's volunteers, both formal and informal, and all of your for making this such a fun and interesting group. In particular, thanks to fannyprice for the bimonthly interesting article threads, dchaikin for the monthly what are you reading threads, charbutton for the quarterly and upcoming year end best reads threads, and janepriceestrada for occasional quirky challenges.

This thread is for all of us to discuss what, if anything, we might like to see changed or improved for 2012 and to solicit volunteers for setting up:

Bimonthly interesting articles threads
Monthly what are you reading threads
Quarterly and year-end best reads threads
Monthly, bimonthly, or occasional quirky challenges

Of course, this shouldn't stop anyone from starting any thread he or she thinks would be interesting!

I really liked the quirky challenges, and I hope they continue again next year!

I'd take up the bimonthly articles topic if one else wants it.

#4, 6 janepriceestrada was doing the challenges, and she seems to be taking a break from LT, because I haven't seen her on any of the threads recently. Would anyone like to take them on for 2012?

We still need volunteers for the quarterly (and year-end) best reads threads and the bimonthly? quirky challenges threads.

I'd like to set up the group this coming week, and I'd like to have the volunteers lined up by then.

Hi all! Sorry to have been away. My home computer died, and I'm in the process of taking my licensing exams so I'm pretty out of touch. I don't think I'll be able to do the challenges next year, but I do have a list of all kinds of ideas for whoever wants to take over.

Great to see you back, Jane -- even if briefly!

Good luck with the computer and the exams, and we'll look forward to seeing you when time and technology permit.

I'll be lurking on club read 2012, not sure how much time I'll have to post.

12 & 13 - sorry not to have replied before. As rebeccanyc said, I've been really quiet on LT this year. Hopefully 2012 will be different, but baswod it will be great if you can take over the end of quarter threads. I think it needs someone who is able to participate more than I have done in 2011.
