Both economics student Theo and his course tutor Jamie Cooper are totally fresh characters. Theo lives his life on the wave of his sense of humour. He's a scream most of the time, though sometimes a bit silly.

Jamie is a perfect foil, and therefore also comes across as nerdy, madcap, heart of gold and silly, as the wannabe boyfriend of Theo.

The plot device is that Theo has no idea that he is gay - he's pining for his girlfriend who has dumped him. It's one of those optimistic heart warming stories where love is love, doesn't matter what the genders are. The B in LGBTQ.

I can't mention this book without referring to the narrator Rudy Sanda. Wow does he have fun with this. He takes it right over the top! It's too much but if you go with it, you open yourself to the full force of this book's charm.

I don't recall that I've heard his voice before - unless he exaggerates his voice so much here that I don't recognise it. He has narrated 114 books on Audible - incredible! And a lot of them are free with Audible Plus, including Leo Loves Aries. I've never utilised Audible Plus; I really have been missing out! (I've been a member of Audible since the 1990s, but I'm guessing Audible Plus has only been a perk for the past few years?) ( )

This book? Made me happy.

Low-angst, humour, kindness, a perfect comfort-read. One of the best light friends-to-lovers stories that I have read.

The quotes opening each chapter and the banter between MCs are witty and funny. Theo is adorkably oblivious and his chemistry with James is almost palpable. Leone, Sean, Ben, Kyle and the mothers are marvelous characters too.

I have just one very little hassle with James, He gave me the feeling of being a somewhat older character, closer to 30 than to the 24 years old unveiled in the story. But this tiny point doesn't alter my rating at all.

Finally, I appreciate that the Zodiac side is amusing but unobtrusive. ( )

What a sweet contemporary romance! I pretty much had a smile on my face through out the book and found myself giggling aloud on several occasions. The characters were well-written, and while the plot wasn't the most mind blowing thing out there, it was entertaining and believable enough (I mean, I guess it's conceivable for an actual person to be as clueless as Theo, right?). I also like the structuring of the chapters with the quotes of the day thrown in between. ( )

That book was just so CUTE! I'm familiar with Ms. Sunday's writing, so I was expecting something good when I grabbed this, and I was not disappointed. It was a light, relaxing read, funny and sexy at all the right times, and it had me smiling (and laughing) almost constantly. The plot was a bit predictable, but so what, it's not a mystery novel. The chemistry between the two MCs was great from the start, but the relationship progressed at a nice pace and was not the slightest bit forced. I loved the fact that Theo, despite being new to this, took his attraction to another man in stride. It was so refreshing after all the [bad!] GFY books I've read over the years.
I loved the fact that the supporting characters had their own backstories and weren't just 2D props. I especially liked Leone, who was so badass despite her disability, and how protective Theo was of her. It added new depth to an already wholesome book.
All in all, it was a very enjoyable summer read. ( )

So Cute! What a great story. Definitely the funniest romance I've read in a while which I loved. This is such a breath of fresh air considering I read a ton of romance books with more serious themes.

The Romance in this between Jamie and Theo was so cute. I loved that each of them had their own distinct strengths and flaws. I think that is the thing that really creates distinct characters and the author did such a good job building two distinct people and showing how they could fall in love. Even though they were very different, I could see how they would fall in love. Sometimes with opposites attract stories, I feel like the connection between the two characters isn't fleshed out enough for me to believe that they would end up together. However, with this book, it was clear how their strengths and weaknesses played off each other and I really appreciated that.

Theo was completely oblivious through most of the book, which could have driven me up the wall, but he was so sweet that I didn't mind at all. I just loved going along for the ride as he realized his feelings for Jamie and grew a lot as a person outside of his relationship. Jamie was also a great character. He could have easily fallen into the tried and true character of the boring, hard-nosed love interest who falls in love with his polar opposite but to me he had such a strong personality that really helped to separate him from the pack of similar characters. I loved how he interacted with Theo and how at points you could really feel how affectionately annoyed he was with Theo. The strong characterization of Theo and Jamie really helped to build a stronger relationship between them.

The side characters in this were also great. Leone was amazing both as a sister to Theo and and friend to Jamie. I loved how she explained her blindness and how she never saw it as a problem or something that would stop her from going after what she wanted. I loved how so many other parts of her character and personality were emphasized instead of only focusing on her blindness. All of the other friends, such as Sean, Kyle, and Ben were also very fun. We don't get to see Ben and Kyle that much in this book and I still felt like I knew who they were and had a sense of their personality.

This book came highly recommended and I'm so glad I finally picked this one up. I definitely want to read the other books in this series. I've read the synopses and they seem equally as fun as this one was. I can't want to see what this author does with different characters! ( )

Absolutely a delight! The author has a group called "Slow Burn Sunday" and this really did unfold in such a slow, almost cozy way. Perfect reading for a lounge-y long weekend in the fall. I really enjoyed all of the characters, both the main crew and the supporters. I'm hoping that some of these characters will get their own books as the series progresses! Even the moms are cute! Jamie and Leo are economists and (in spite of that!) they are both lots of fun. There's so much empathy here, and even a gentle treatment of PTSD/overcoming phobia of water. Absolutely recommend.

This book starts with twins Theo and Leone trying hard to move on after breaking up with their exes – who actually fell in love with each other. That’s understandably rough. They decide to find each other dates for “The Wedding”. In the meantime, they also interview roommates and Theo finally settles on his previous semesters’ econ tutor Jamie. What follows is a story of friendship, trust, jealousy and love in all it’s fun forms.

Theo is very funny and sweet and adorable but absolutely clueless in certain matters. He loves getting Jaime’s skin, irritating him to no end but also enjoying their encounters. Leone is legally blind and can only slightly see outlines and some colors but she is fierce, loyal and independent. Jaime is calm, cool, smart, a health food nut and gives back as good as he gets to Theo. The three of them develop a great dynamic living together and it was fun seeing their daily interactions.

Jaime is always attentive towards Leone’s needs but also considerate to let her be and figure out her surroundings in a new place. This makes Theo want to setup his sister with Jaime but fate has other ideas.

When Theo goes on a date with Liz and Leone and Jaime join them, Theo ends up spending most of his time with Jaime. He gets incessantly jealous seeing with his childhood best friend Sean. The banter between them is absolutely hilarious and so full of sexual innuendo but Theo is as usual his oblivious self. Even when they take their friendship to the next level, he couldn’t get it through his thick head that he was in love and his insistence that they were just friends with benefits fooled no one.

The book also has good side characters and I loved all the friendships. Sean is a great, supportive best friend to Jaime and I loved the progression of his relationship with Leone. Ben and Kyle are also a cool addition to their group and definitely help Theo figure out his feelings. But the most charming of all is the twins’ mother Crystal – her obsession with the zodiac and insisting that the predictions in the horoscope will work was very funny. But her emphasis that the sexual chemistry between Leo and Aries will be explosive does turn out to be true. I can’t wait to see more of her in the remaining books of the series.

To wrap up, I just have to say that this book has great elements – beautiful friendships, amazingly positive sibling relationship, very slow burn romance and hilarious entertaining banter. It is also quite angst-free and will make for a delightful read when in need for some fun. ( )

Friking adorable.
So much frustration with Theo's obliviousness at the beginning of this story. Seriously dude he sucked peanut butter from your finger!
Theo's faltering stumbling with his attraction to Jamie made my stomach churn as it turned from lust to love. I felt all his concerns and confusion and, despite not ever getting Jamie's POV, I hurt with him over his despair that Theo might not return his obvious feelings.
Loved both their Mums. Need more of the mums.
The chemistry in this was amazing and not just sexual. I really believe these two have a chance to make it. ( )

Perfection!

Oh so sweet and slow. Theo and Jamie's relationship progressed so naturally. Don't give me that insta crap! This slow burn is what I like. They were bickering and teasing each other back and forth, and somewhere along the way it started to become more. Of course Theo was oblivious, he didn't even know Jamie is gay. And Theo was giving off mixed signals to Jamie unintentionally.

I loved that coming out of the closet wasn't a big deal in this story, there wasn't a 'ohmygod-I'm gay' moment either.

There's only Theo's POV, and I didn't miss Jamie's at all, he's feelings were there in every gesture written all over him, I didn't feel the need to know his thoughts.

It's a sweet, cute, humorous story. Highly recommended for slow-burn lovers, but don't expect a lot of steam. There supposed to be a short story though, so I'm gonna check that out.

Enjoy! ( )

I really enjoyed reading this one. Strong chemistry between the main characters and an excellent set of secondary characters made for a very rich story. Would read another by this author!

I had to downrank from 5 to 4 stars though, because of the disorienting setting. It was supposed to occur in the northern midwest US, but was not written in American English. In particular the use of the word "tutor" is not the way that the word is used there; it should be "Teaching Assistant = TA" or "Graduate Instructor," something like that. So I kept hearing the characters reading in an accent that was not consistent with the location. ( )

I really liked the last 30% of the book, but overall I'm a little bit disappointed.
I won't remember these characters for years to come, which is a shame. And the saddest part is that I don't know why. Is there some problem with me or with the book? Am I just not in the mood for romance? Who knows? All I know is that I desperately wanted to love it but for some reason I just liked it.
Also, Theo not saying he may be bi or pan or queer was not cute... ( )

This romance is a bit too slow-burn for me. I would have liked the book a lot better if it was half as long. ( )

I've figured out when to exit from the struggle bus. I pulled the chain and hopped off that m-fer.

It's when the game of Truth or Dare starts. You exit after that.

It's when you keep lowering your e-reader to wax on about the use of the word 'nicking' not making sense to you, read all the WaPo op-eds, and also when the characters play Truth or Dare.

It's when you realize you generally don't enjoy this story and do not care for where it's going. (Where is going feels very...concerning but didn't finish so I'll withhold judgment)

It's when you realize "ohmygod I don't have to finish this. This isn't uncooked chicken. It's just a book I don't like"

It's pretty much just me, after a quick scan. FWIW.

Also note to self: as a total skeptic, I should've known. One horoscope reference is too many. To eaches their owns. ( )

A very swoony slow burn read that's for sure. This book was such a fun read and I will definitely be checking out more of the authors' books. I loved the snarky banter between Theo and Jamie. I was grinning a mile wide reading this book and couldn't wait for Theo to stop being so clueless. There were also some lovely side characters to adore as well. A+ ( )
