- A propos de ma bibliothèque
- I tag personally: so some 4th century BC drama is, for instance, also tagged as history: to me it is most used as a primary historical source.
I purposefully collect Scottish first editions, but end up collecting books.
The Scottish 1st editions vary from a Knox from the 16th century to modern fiction, but the end of the important stuff probably comes with McDiarmid's A Drunk Man Looks at The Thistle. The most important are probably six first and three second editions of Walter Scott, all bound for the Earl of Lonsdale at the time of printing, although I have a large collection of 19th century monthly literary journals which contain some interesting first appearances of short stories and poems by Scottish authors.
As for the rest? My main focus is history, largely from 400 B.C. to 350 A.D., but there are amounts of philosophy, law (first degree), international relations (2nd one) and substantial amounts of later history as well.
In fiction, I love modern Scottish writers - Brookmyre, Banks, Welsh, Gray and more - but have a huge weakness for sci-fi and other speculative fiction. - A propos de moi
