A propos de ma bibliothèque
"Those who can, do; those who cannot, teach," George Bernard Shaw wrote. I might add, those who cannot, read. We are a tribe. No one can possibly do everything. But we can, selectively, pick the minds of anyone who has ever had anything worthwhile to say. You are you and I am me and we are one. (Thanks, George Harrison) It takes a lifetime to unshackle your habits of thought from the first fifteen to thirty years of your life when you were imprisoned in schools, teams, churches, camps, military where the 'tribal you' was subjugated and any original thought was caught like a butterfly, chloroformed, and pinned to a display case kept in the cellar. Reading is your last chance to encounter real thought. Rejoin the tribe. We all know a little something. Pass it on.
