The Age of Steam Roundhouse Museum preserves, maintains, displays, interprets, and operates steam locomotives, rolling stock, and objects from the collection of its founders, Jerry Joe Jacobson & Laura Jacobson, and other collections. The museum also preserves and practices the skills need to restore and care for that collection for the education, enlightenment, and entertainment of the public.

Named for its late coordinator, Michael J. Costill, the Costill Memorial Archives furthers and supports AOSRM's mission by collecting, preserving, and providing access to records and published materials relating to the museum's collection and general steam railroad history.
