A propos de moi
I'm a stay-at-home dad of five kids. I started writing in high school, but it wasn't until much later that I seriously pursued the craft as a career. I loved art as a child, so my aspiration had always been to be a professional cartoonist, or an animator. After high school I served a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, after which I attended the University of Utah to study fine art. Marriage and children interrupted school, and to make ends meet I worked variously as a machine operator, salesman, banker, and technician. In 2003, my life changed dramatically when I suddenly collapsed from a grand mal seizure. I continued to have regular seizures for years, as well as chronic fatigue, depression, and episodes of paralysis. Multiple doctors and tests yielded many theories, but no diagnoses. In 2008 my physical problems made it impossible to hold a regular job, and in 2008 I was granted Social Security disability. With suddenly more time on my hands, I took up writing again, and this time completed my first novel at the end of 2009. I still write as often as I can, when I have the energy and time. I also enjoy drawing, sculpting, carving, and ventriloquism.
