A propos de ma bibliothèque
Until this year the school had no library and I am in the process of starting one with only a small room, some shelving, and several hundred donated books. I am trying to get a free circulation system to replace signing books out by hand with 4 classes that I meet once a week. We are, of course, limited in funds so I am doing all I can to increase the collection, most of which is used and in paperback right now. At this time, I have no web site nor even a laptop dedicated for library use. I am open to suggestions for ways to get the things I need to automate. In the meantime, I was fortunate enough to discover LibraryThing and have been entering our school collection to prepare for automation. It is an amazing program and I was happy to pay for a lifetime subscription. While I move closer to automation, this program gives me the ability to analyze the existing collection and has saved me countless hours of work in the process.
A propos de moi
I am a retired elementary school librarian. My husband is a retired middle school math teacher. If we sound hum-drum, consider that we have recently adopted our 5 year old granddaughter. She is the love or our lives!! We are blessed to have her and to be able to spend so much time with her. She attends full day kindergarten at a local Christian school. I volunteer at this school as their librarian.
