Our library is located in downtown Jacksonville Florida and is four stories high. Each floor houses a different section of materials. The fourth floor contains a grand reading room and geneology section as well as the Florida Collection. The walls on our Map Room display historical maps of the state of Florida. The library offers the community many activities. We show movies every second and fourth Thursday of the month in our auditorium, including close-captioned movies for the hearing-impaired. We also have a program called Much Ado About Books. It showcases local and nationally recognized authors. It also holds a Young Writers competition as well as workshops for aspiring writers.

I enjoy reading, most specifically mystery books. I never go anywhere without a book to read. I have passed this legacy on to my children. Hopefully I have passed the love of reading to my grandchildren as well. I enjoy sewing, mentoring and spending time with my family and friends. I have lived in three different countries and seven different states. I speak three languages and enjoy traveling. I am on the downhill slide to collecting my social security but by no means do I plan to retire. I love the job I have now and hope to continue with it for many years to come.
