A propos de ma bibliothèque

My library is an eclectic mix of fiction and nonfiction, including field guides, books on Christianity and Roman Catholicism in particular, gardening and farming, and history. Many of my books are acquired from library sales which I anticipate with the same childish glee normally reserved for Christmas.

A propos de moi

My name is Jessica and I’m a bibliophile. They say admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery but I don’t think it helps when you’re addicted to books. At least, I’ve conceded to being an addict for most of my life and I’m still a bibliophile. Despite my addiction, I’m still able to function in normal society. But then maybe I’m not addicted so much as in love. There’s a difference between being a bibliophile and a bibliomaniac. Bibliomania is a brand of obsessive compulsive disorder whereas Bibliophilia is an extreme hobby. Really it’s like comparing a raging alcoholic to a Saturday drunk. It’s all a matter of degrees.
