A propos de ma bibliothèque

An avid history buff, my focus has been primarily on American history (particularly women in the Civil War). Geneology and hobbies such as quilting & needlework also take up space. I also love mysteries but generally get those books from the library or friends. After I retired, I started taking classes in watercolor painting which has added to my collection of books.

A propos de moi

My uncle was a high school English teacher and flooded us with books. I found myself getting lost in "Pride and Prejudice" and "Jane Eyre", not to mention "The Three Musketeers"! My interest in history and genealogy (among others) just kept adding to the influx of books.

I'm often accompanied in my reading by my cat, Benjamin, who seems to enjoy being read to; and, yes, my favorite dessert is cherry pie.
