I libretti della serie "Matematica moderna" erano moderni mezzo secolo fa. È vero che la matematica non cambia, al limite se ne aggiunge di nuova; ma è anche vero che il modo di fare e di spiegare matematica cambia con il miglioramento della didattica. Inoltre la scuola russa mi è sempre stata più ostica di quelle europea e americana, per il modo diverso in cui procedono nell'esposizione. Beh, in questo caso mi sono docuto ricredere. Non solo il testo presenta le isometrie in modo perfettamente comprensibile, ma anche la traduzione di Pier Giovanni Donini è attualissima. Insomma, è un peccato che questo libro sia ormai fuori commercio da decenni, perché è davvero un gioiellino.… (plus d'informations)

Very good. Includes 320 problems divided into different categories along with thorough solutions. Includes recreational problems and some real head-scratchers. Some merely require logic, while other problems require some grounding in trigonometry and algebra. Most of the book is devoted to the solutions to the problems, so you aren't left hanging at the end of the day.

I mostly got this book to recover some of my lost math, and a lot of these problems will surely get you more of a grounding in math.… (plus d'informations)

This book is devoted to fundamentals of the thoery of Boolean algebra which play an important role in mathematical logic and in the development of electronic computers and cybernetics.
The book includes the definition of the notion of a Boolean algebra and many examples of such algebras: in particular, it deals with algebra of propositions.
Some applications of this algebra to the automation of mathematical proofs are discussed. There are also many exercises with answers and hints to some of them placed at the end of the book. The solution of the problems in the exercises facilitates the understanding of the material of the book.
