Critiques

It's 1971 Toronto and the hippie culture is alive and well. This is the story of Paul, a failed social worker, who hosts a group therapy session as an experiment while he is out of work. His own personal life isn't perfect: he's recently separated and living in a commune, which falls far short of his Marxist ideals.

His therapy group, however, does achieve some success. Simon is a deeply closeted gay man in an era where homophobia and violence and discrimination against homosexuals were the norm. It takes a long time for him to open up to the group. Claire is dealing with extreme anxiety caused by her job. Beata isn't dealing with the death of her husband particularly well,

The story is good and moves along nicely with some funny moments and lots to think about in terms of human relationships.½
