I rated this collection 4 stars. King Of Crows appeared in the anthology Little Demon Digest Vol.1, before the author was asked to expand it, then create more stories; bringing before us his debut collection.
KING OF CROWS
As the story progressed, the feeling that an ancient fairy tale was being retold, or that an origin mythos was being discovered, infused the overall feel of the words. By the end, and the final sentences, I swear I got a chill on the back of my neck.
THE LAST
Reading this story through without much Judeo-Christian knowledge (like me) still made for a gripping tale, but I knew I was missing things, but not what; I asked my more wizened husband for the details. That does make the story deeper, at least for me, knowing what the names meant.
COME THE AUTUMN
This was strangely comforting, perhaps strangely is not the correct word; I would gladly go along, even knowing it was not really up to me.
THE ORCHARDS OF FAITH
This seems like the perfect location for an X-files episode, except I don’t see Scully and Mulder returning from this one… I would not be interested in living there, not very progressive.… (plus d'informations)
