- Winifred Wolfe, born in Boston, Massachusetts, began her literary career writing radio soap operas. In the 70s, she became head writer of the network television soap operas ''As the World Turns'' and ''Somerset.'' She wrote and produced ''High Hopes," a syndicated drama series.
She contributed stories to national magazines such as Cosmospolitan and Good Housekeeping. She also wrote popular novels and books of career advice for women, including Ask Any Girl (1958) and If a Man Answers (1960), both of which were adapted into films. Other books included Yesterday's Child, Josie's Way, and Occupant Penthouse A. Miss Wolfe also wrote two plays: Three Stories High for summer stock, and Man on the Stairs, which was produced in London. She was married to Jack Gordun, a theatrical agent and producer. She died at age 58 in 1981, after being treated for stomach cancer. - Notice de désambigüisation
