The fake relationship trope is one of my favorites! The sparks were flying between Gavin and Brooke. Their fake relationship was blind to become real from moment one. The chemistry between these two was way too much for them to just remain friends.

I will say while I do love Brooke’s family and Gavin’s family, their meddling drove me a little crazy. I loved that they wanted the two of them to get together and could see what they were missing was going on between them. But they pushed a lot. And just annoyed me a bit with how much they did it. Sometimes you have to just let people find their own way to one another. I know their hearts and intentions were in the right place but there were times I wanted Brooke to just let out how frustrating that really was.

I loved both of these characters and have been waiting for Gavin to get his story since his appearance in the first book. He is such a sweet, loving, and protective character. He was exactly what Brooke needed. And Brooke is an independent single mom who doesn’t want others to think she needs help. But I liked that Gavin showed her it’s ok to need help and that we all do sometimes.

The romance was incredible between Gavin and Brooke. And there was a perfect amount of suspense sprinkled throughout the book as well. It was very intriguing and kept me on high alert, waiting for something to happen. And things between Gavin and Brooke were more than just a little swoon worthy. I really loved this book and I hope there are going to be more in the series!

I absolutely loved this book and the characters within it! Stacey spent so much of her time trying to avoid being around Jason because whenever they got close, the chemistry just about set fire to everything and everyone around them. And she was bound and determined to stay happily single.

Meanwhile, Jason accepts that there is some seriously intense chemistry between himself and Stacey but is also determined to stay single. But they are put into situations that put them in close proximity to one another. Which means that chemistry cannot be avoided.

On top of the sizzling chemistry and the hot romance that is brewing from page one and never stops, there are also some unexpected elements that come in and keep you hooked even deeper. This was such a great read. And while it can be read as a standalone, I strongly recommend that you read the other books in the series so that you can really get a feel for the small-town community and the other background characters. I'll just be sitting here waiting for Elsa Winckler's next release!

Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3/5 Stars)
Title: An Impossible Attraction
Author(s): Elsa Winckler
Character(s):
Zoe Sutherland: 27 years old, Brunette, Blue Eyed
Dale Cavallo: Brunette, Brown Eyed
Setting: South Africa
Tag(s): Romance, Contemporary
Content Rating: PG-13
POV: Third Person
Smexy Level: Warm
Favorite Quote(s):
― “How realistic is it to think you can love only one person for the rest of your life?”
― “You know me, getting married is not on the agenda. Happy-ever-afters are not my thing.”
― “You annoy me, you irritate me, you’ve upset my life, but I want to spend every one of those annoying, irritating, upsetting moments with you.”
Overall Opinion:
Zoe was young and unattached; Dale was a sought-after, rich tycoon— what girl wouldn’t swoon a little bit? Since the get-go, their chemistry was off the charts. Besides the obvious attraction, neither one was ready to jump head or more so heart first to anything and they avoided each other like the plague. Zoe trust issues with men left her batter and Dale past work fling that nearly destroyed his business left them damaged. After a blissful night, passion consumed them and it ends with a kiss rendering them speechless. Who would have thought one single kiss could change everything.

Generally speaking, this was an okay read. Nothing really stood out and by the time I did get halfway through, I was already dreading picking this up. The characters seemed dull, the touch and go relationship with the leads was a tad bit annoying and the story became boring after a while. Moreover, the romance seem a little rushed and towards the end, they were too quick to make up. I will definitely won't be rereading this series anytime soon.

Overall Opinion:
Very much like the first book of the series, I was left feeling less than impressed with this read. Feelings between the characters developed far quicker than the norm and the relationship moved way too fast that it became nothing more than a turn off. The characters were less than memorable and there wasn't anything in particular about this series that made it likable. Unlike the first book, I did decide to drop this half way through since it didn't really appeal to me at all.
