This was a good foundational read exploring the problems with sexual obsessions (sins), focusing on an individual's frame of mind and habits. It's Biblically-centered and I thought Wilson did a good job explaining his views factually, without unduly shaming those who struggle with sexual sin.

Topics that came up included pornography, homosexuality, voyeurism, and masturbation. He also talked about enjoying sex within marriage. Though he's clear that being married doesn't keep anyone from sexual sin, it did seem that he tended to assume everyone is married.

A couple of verses appeared to be taken out of context, and his statements on masturbation were contradictory. He essentially states that it's wrong, but then appears to say that, here and there, it's not a big deal. I don't think that's what he was actually trying to get across, but the way it was worded was just too fuzzy for my preference.

"Excess creates obsession, not satisfaction." p 15

"Normal sexuality... is not determined statistically by the number of people who engage in specific sexual practices. If it were, sexual obsession could become the norm. Instead, normality is defined by what the Bible has to say about sexuality." p 137
