This book has a fundamental identity problem. Portraying itself as a how-to guide for “furniture projects to transform your home” in fact eliminates it from being a useful book for those of us who don’t have spare organ pipes or potato sorting belts lying around. Reading the highly specific directions for each piece leaves the reader at a loss for how to apply the writer’s general handiness to their own stuff-y life.

I learned that in Florida we pretty much have sucky junk stores and flea markets and that all of the cool things in this book will never be had by me unless I move out of this state. It's a fun book but unless you live near really cool flea markets it's kind of not fun. There is an element of jealousy.

This is a fabulous book with ingenious ideas for reunse of very common and not so common items! So many pages my thought was "why didn't I think of that!". If you like shabby chic or casual decor,or have a cottage, this is a great book for ideas! It includes the plans and instructions too!

Great ideas for re-purposing items found at flea markets,antique stores.Alot of ideas for reusing parts of whole items found.Also sections show the junk items in use in rooms.I am looking for my wooden slacks hangers right now to be used as photo hangers!

If only I had the eye and the talent to do this.

Hey! That's MY job. (haha) These women have put together a nice book. The "how to" section in the back is nice, but more on the techniques would have been better. Definately a fun book.

Decoration Junk Market Style is a highly imaginative book. My favorite idea is the making of a chandelier from chicken wire.
