“Journey to Inspired Art Quilting” by Jean Wells is an inspirational book for anyone who wants to learn a new style of art quilting. Wells has written another great book and I could not put this one down. Like a great novel, I just had to keep reading this art quilting book. With this book, I could really understand how Wells constructs and plans her quilts.
Journey to Inspired Art Quilting covers broad areas on learning: where to obtain ideas for making your quilts, how to plan a quilt, quilt construction, and ideas on finishing your quilt that do not use binding. A large section includes color theory and colors used in nature. There is another section on landscape quilts and using quilt journals and photography for inspiration.
The Journey to Inspired Art Quilting is easy to understand and gives me inspiration to try one of Wells’ art quilts myself. If you just want to look at pictures of scenery and flowers, this book will also satisfy you!
