Excellent book for both reference and teaching when the arts of grammar and syntactics are called for, and you don't want your participles dangling or your phrases ending with propositions. The language is colorful, even hilarious, and examples are drawn largely from nurseries, playgrounds, and cheap gin pool-rooms. Tests are administered for those willing to get positively risque'. Excellent for know-it-all teachers who really need to understand the rules of grammar. And even parents can understand it. The author teaches English composition.
