J. N. P. Watson

Johnnie Watson, a former major in the Royal Horse Guards (Blues), who was educated at Eton College, served with the Guards Independent Parachute Company for operations in Cyprus and at Suez. After being Mentioned In Despatches leading a detached armoured car squadron of the Blues through the last afficher plus two years of the Cyprus Emergency, he returned to command the Parachute Company. On being invalided out of the Army, he joined the editoral staff of Country Life and was their senior features writer for over 20 years.
