I've been a fan of Watsky's music for a couple of years. I think he is a talented artist and wordsmith, displayed in his really long freestyle he did on a livestream to raise money for small artists who were left without money due to covid. All of this being said, this book was nothing like what I would have expected. This is clearly my fault, not Watsky's, but my perception of him from his stage persona and his music was different than what he portrayed in this book. This collection of essays reads more like a run-of-the-mill YouTube celebrity book that they wrote for no particular reason, but we at least have the benefit of the fact that Watsky probably actually wrote this himself.

The essays bounce back and forth quite dramatically, some essays are way more entertaining than others. I really enjoyed the story of the animal tusk, the story about the annoying roommate, the mile high club, the story of his father, and the story of his dating prospects. However, the rest of it is kind of blur to me. This book is by no means bad, it's just not what I expected and found myself disappointed. (I was expecting a 5 star read, just because I liked Watsky's music)

Thoughtful, funny, and astonishingly heartwarming. Watsky continues to impress as an artist.

Being a huge fan of his music, it was very interesting to get inside his mind and see how his life has inspired his music. I had no idea he was a twin or that he deals with epilepsy. The stories are very interesting and I loved how he weaved in some universal life lessons into his own personal crazy stories.

I began listening to this book of essays via Playster audiobook. I could not get interested in his stories.
