Elizabeth K. Wallace

For those of us who love Garth Williams' illustrations, this memoir is the most complete, most objective, and well researched source. It may be disconcerting to learn that he was married four times, and that his life was not nearly as cozy as those beloved furry creatures or the skipping prairie girls that he drew. But it is always interesting to read about the real person behind the illustrations. Highly recommended.
