This book wasn't half bad. I remember when I got it and was adding it to my library something about it made me set it aside. So it sat and sat on in my stack of books and every time I thought about picking it up I'd go "no, I’m not sure I am up for this one." In any case, I finally opted to read and I was pleasantly surprised. Not super great, but interesting enough.

I thought that all the characters were well written; they had good backstories which was the strength of the book. The overall story wasn't super complex or anything, but all of it worked. I did like the writing style which I would deem as American even though the main character was Czech. Anyway, something of a different story set in a different place, and I like the characterization of the Swiss. I hardly know Switzerland at all, but yeah, it seems like an extremely odd people and / or place which is clearly laid out in this novel.… (plus d'informations)
