A friend bought this for me and I tried to find an interest in it. It's just not for me.
I'm not a Christian, but I am against war in the same way the author seems to be. But I have no interest in the Christian reasons. When I was one, though, I never could (still can't) understand how they could justify being so pro-war. It was unnerving.

Throughout both the Old and New Testament, Bible readers are presented with literally thousands of angels. In addition to the "standard" angels, there are also archangels, cherubim, and other spiritual creatures. But anyone who does much Bible reading has noticed repeated reference to "THE angel of the Lord:" the one who visited Lot in Sodom, among many other things. Well, who is this singular creature, and what distinguishes him from other angelic beings? (He's not Gabriel or Michael; they were both archangels, and when they showed up, their names were given.) Dr. Vance, who is a serious and diligent student of the Bible, has, doubtless after much painstaking work, identified "the angel of the Lord" in this little book. Vance's conclusions are not original (they'd be suspicious if they were), but they are explained in a serious and methodical way. This is a fascinating and important book, and deserves attention.

Very highly recommended.

A masterpiece.

Shows the humanistic origins of "Calvinism". Establishes clearly the self-contained contradictions of this pernacious doctrine.

A methodical, accurate, and damning book.

Most Calvinists would be terrified if they read it- especially if they opened their eyes to the longest running scam in Evangelical circles- i.e. that Calvinism has something to do with "grace".

God did not create beings just to damn them. He didn't damn them in eternity past. And He didn't send His Son to damn them.

Vance's book is the best book on the market today to illuminate this wicked doctrinal system.
