Mostly a good reference guide to the UP, but I could nitpick through the Mackinac Island section specifically (for one, the Inn at Stonecliffe isn't exactly "budget-friendly" - you're better off at Small Point B&B, Bogan Lane Inn, or Haan's 1830 Inn. I'm a Michigan native who has been going to the Island at least once a year, in varying lengths, for my whole life: over 30 years. I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about the place to put it mildly!)

But for the majority of the whole book, it's a decent travel guide. The only area I haven't made it to yet is the westernmost area of the UP- hopefully I'll make it to the Porkies soon!

ETA on 2021 reread: I've now been to the Porkies, and I noticed this time that the map of Mackinac Island on page 32 has a couple of errors: there isn't a Murdick's Fudge or Island House located in the middle of the Island near the airport.… (plus d'informations)
