The texts give good introductions to respectively the book or the chapter they are written for. I live the photographs of the dishes and the few of China's landscape.
Despite I was attracted by the pictures, I won'tvtry the recipes written down for myself. Too much ingredients, pottery I don't have and the lack of metric mesurements (could have been easily added to the book) make that unattractive.
