Paul Teller

This very good introduction to "baby logic", as Peter Smith of the University of Cambridge deems it, has got it all over such "really, really, elementary text books like Sam Guttenplan’s The Languages of Logic, Howard Kahane’s Logic and Philosophy, or Patrick Hurley’s Concise Introduction to Logic" (again according to Smith). Smith is not even sure that his own Introduction to Formal Logic is superior in baby logic to Teller's: "had I known about it at the time (or listened to Paul’s good advice, when I got to know him, about how long it takes to write an intro book), I’m not sure that I’d have written my own book, full of good things though it is!" Smith, you are a good chap.

Now Teller's 2 volume classic is available for free (!) and online (!!). What a deal!!!
