I have found another great devotional to add to my devotional rotation.

For those who are not familiar with Paul Tautges and his teaching/writing ministry, I am so pleased to introduce you to him through this book.

Paul Tautges has taught and encouraged me through his blogs, sermons, and teachings for many years. And now in this 31-day devotional, from his personal experiences with anxiety, he points us to Jesus as our peace and walks with us through a myriad of situations where he gives us biblical truths and shows us how to apply those truths when we are experiencing anxiety.

Each devotional includes a focal Scripture passage and a devotional teaching. At the end of each devotional you will find questions on which to Reflect and something on which to Act.

Through these devotionals you will learn and come to understand what anxiety is as he defines it and gives us insights into the experiences of people in the Bible who also experienced and struggled with anxiety. He leads to look at how God’s character and His promises bring hope. By sharing biblical truth and wisdom he shows us practical ways to apply these truths and wisdom in your fight against anxiety.

This devotional is not just for those who experience and struggle with anxiety, it is a must-have for every Christ-follower since it will help you understand anxiety better, know what the Bible says about anxiety, and how to apply biblical truths and wisdom to help someone who is experiencing and struggling with anxiety.

NOTE: I received a complimentary digital copy of this book for reviewing from Paul Tautges. I was not required to provide a positive review. Thoughts in “My Two Cents” are my own opinion.

Robin Ham's review in Churchman Autumn 2016 says this is great. Tautges is Reformed and an advocate of the biblical counselling movement, and is thus unashamed of his theological convictions, but also nuanced and sensitive to the realities of grief.

The pain of suffering often compels us to search our hearts to see what may need to be cleansed by God through hones confession and repentance. This, above all, God the Father desires to see. Christlikeness is God's ideal for His children. Christian suffering is one of the most potent means to that end.

When was the last time you heard a sermon on gluttony? The Apostle Paul showed his commitment to mastering his appetite.
