In this fun rhyming African-American children's book "Big Hair, Don't Care", main character Lola has really really REALLY big hair, much bigger than the other kids at her school. As the reader follows Lola throughout the day, her hair gets in the way from time to time (it's hard to play hide and seek when your hair is so big!) and she gets lots of stares from other kids, but that doesn't stop her from confidently telling anyone who will listen just how much she LOVES her big beautiful hair! Don't be surprised if by the end of the book, your child can't stop saying big hair, don't care!

It´s not always easy being a kid, especially when you look different from everyone around you. This fun to read African-American children's book is perfect for any diverse classroom and is aimed at any boys and girls who may need a reminder from time to time that it's okay to look different and to celebrate the things that make you uniquely YOU! In this book lola is a little girl who loves to share her difference in hair with everyone. She loves her hair the way it is and wouldn't trade it she knows it gives her away while playing games but she still loves all the ways she can style it.

Lola loves her natural big hair, and she tells everyone all about. Lola talks about how no matter how her hair looks she still loves it, even when she plays games and her hair gives her away.

In this story, the main character has really big hair. She keeps it styled cute and is very proud of the way she looks. Others stare at her but she doesn't mind at all. It is part of who she is. You can find her easily, she stands out. She has fun with the many ways she can wear it. She is very confident in herself. This is a great story to show kids we are each different and we each have our own styles. This would go great with a day to wear your hair however you want and set yourself apart from others.

I Love this book! It is a very simple book about a girl who is proud of her hair. Big hair, don't care! She talks about all the different ways she can style it, how soft and fluffy it is, and how she can always be found in a crowd. She also says it makes her easy to spot in hide-and-seek and blocks people behind her from seeing. The illustrations are adorable and my mostly-white classes loved it! Several mentioned their own hair or a classmates hair. It was a pleasurable way to expose kids to different ethnicities while focusing on self-confidence.
