gives a short introduction into German Sign Language, including history, grammar, the finger alphabet and a basic vocabulary. Unfortunately the graphics of the sign don't always match the description.
I want to find a more comprehensive book about sign language now, which also covers grammar, for example. I found out in the meantime however that Austrian Sign Language differs from German Sign Language. And the only books I found covered German Sign Language.
